Track #3: Shattered Moon
Shattered Moon is the third level in the Unity title "Max Impulse" and the second one that I created. The main concept for this level was to create a race track that offered the player multiple options with their traversal, as opposed to a single linear path. Continuing with the trend of making each level unique, Shattered Moon focuses on Zero G play by taking place directly in space.
This level takes place in an asteroid field orbiting a nearby planet. I decided that it would be interesting for each area of the track to be a different kind of piece and they would be linked together through warp tunnels. Due to the nature of an asteroid field, I was able to focus on how I wanted to order the pieces versus where they would be placed in regard to one another. I worked with the concept artist on the team to conceptualize possible pieces for this level. After some deliberation, we finalized this set of pieces. At this point I began modeling the individual pieces.
